Routine Vaccines

Make sure all your routine vaccines are up to date before traveling, including chickenpox, tetanus, flu, MMR, polio, and shingles vaccines.

COVID-19

Stay up to date with your COVID-19 vaccines before traveling.

Hepatitis A

Hepatitis A vaccine is recommended for all travelers to Bahrain age 1 and older. Infants 6-11 months should also get vaccinated. Special protocols apply for older adults and those with health conditions.

Hepatitis B

Hepatitis B vaccine is recommended for travelers under 60. Those 60 and older may choose to get vaccinated.

Measles

All travelers should be fully vaccinated against measles with MMR vaccine at least 2 weeks before travel. Infants 6-11 months need an early dose.

Typhoid

Typhoid vaccine is recommended for most travelers to Bahrain, especially if staying with friends/relatives or visiting smaller cities or rural areas.

Rabies

Rabies risk is low in Bahrain, but consider pre-exposure vaccination if you'll have animal contact or may have difficulty accessing treatment quickly.

Yellow Fever

Yellow fever vaccine is not needed for disease protection but is required if coming from countries with yellow fever risk, including airport layovers over 12 hours.
