Routine Vaccines

Make sure you're up-to-date on all routine vaccines including chickenpox, tetanus, flu, MMR, polio, and shingles.

COVID-19

Stay up-to-date with COVID-19 vaccines before traveling.

Hepatitis A

Hepatitis A vaccine is recommended for all travelers to the Maldives age 1 year and older. Infants 6-11 months should also get vaccinated.

Hepatitis B

Hepatitis B vaccine is recommended for all unvaccinated travelers to the Maldives.

Measles

Measles cases are rising worldwide. Get fully vaccinated with MMR vaccine at least 2 weeks before travel. Infants 6-11 months need an early dose.

Typhoid

Typhoid vaccine is recommended for most travelers to the Maldives, especially if staying with friends/relatives or visiting smaller cities or rural areas.

Chikungunya

Chikungunya vaccine is generally not recommended. Focus on preventing mosquito bites instead.

Rabies

Rabid dogs are not commonly found in the Maldives. Consider pre-exposure rabies vaccination if you'll have high-risk animal contact or limited access to medical care.

Yellow Fever

Yellow fever vaccine is not recommended for travel to the Maldives. However, it's required if you're coming from a country with yellow fever risk, including airport layovers over 12 hours.
