Routine vaccines

Make sure all your routine vaccines are up to date, including chickenpox, tetanus, flu, MMR, polio, and shingles vaccines.

COVID-19

Stay up to date with your COVID-19 vaccines before traveling.

Hepatitis A

Hepatitis A vaccine is recommended for all unvaccinated travelers over 1 year old. Infants 6-11 months should also get vaccinated. Special arrangements may be needed for those over 40, immunocompromised, or with chronic conditions.

Hepatitis B

Hepatitis B vaccine is recommended for unvaccinated travelers under 60. Those 60 and older may choose to get vaccinated.

Measles

Measles cases are rising worldwide. All travelers should be fully vaccinated with MMR vaccine at least 2 weeks before travel. Infants 6-11 months need an early dose.

Rabies

Rabies-infected dogs are uncommon in Romania, but rabies exists in some wildlife. Pre-exposure vaccination may be considered for high-risk activities. Post-exposure vaccines are typically available throughout the country.

Tick-borne Encephalitis

Tick-borne encephalitis vaccine is recommended if you'll have extensive tick exposure in endemic areas, or may be considered for outdoor activities where ticks are likely.

Yellow Fever

Yellow fever vaccine is not recommended and not required for entry to Romania.
