Routine Vaccines

Ensure all routine vaccinations are up to date before travel, including chickenpox, DTP, flu, MMR, polio, and shingles vaccines.

COVID-19

All eligible travelers should ensure they are up to date with COVID-19 vaccinations.

Chikungunya

Chikungunya vaccination is recommended for travelers to Suriname due to an ongoing outbreak.

Hepatitis A

Hepatitis A vaccination is recommended for all unvaccinated travelers to Suriname aged 1 year and older, with special provisions for infants and high-risk groups.

Hepatitis B

Hepatitis B vaccination is recommended for unvaccinated travelers under 60 years old, and may be considered for those 60 and older.

Measles

All international travelers should be fully vaccinated with MMR vaccine, including early vaccination for infants 6-11 months old.

Typhoid

Typhoid vaccination is recommended for most travelers to Suriname, especially those staying with friends/relatives or visiting smaller cities and rural areas.

Rabies

Rabies vaccination may be recommended depending on your activities and access to medical care. Consult a healthcare provider before travel.

Yellow Fever

Yellow fever vaccination is recommended for all travelers 9 months and older. It's required for entry if coming from countries with yellow fever risk, including transit stops over 12 hours.
